Doing More With Less, How To Teach and Train On the Internet

One of the fastest growing training areas is web-based training. This workshop focuses on online teaching and training and covers the following content:

         Skills for teaching online

·        How to construct a clear syllabus or set of guidelines, lecture, and direction

·        The importance of feedback

·        Problems unique to the online environment

·        How to assess online work

·        Managing the online training/learning environment.

·        How to establish the correct tone for online.

The workshop is at least 40% hands-on and includes practice responding to “flaming” notes, handling problem messages from students/trainees, giving complete and thorough directions, and establishing online “tone of voice.” Examples of good syllabi vs. bad syllabi, good notes and responses vs. bad notes and responses, and good lectures vs. poor lectures will be provided. A model of highly successful online programs, a model of classroom/training structure that encourages learning online, as well as experiences of what works and what doesn’t in the online environment are shared. Much of the training is based on their book “How to Teach and Train Online.”
